Hmm. 1.0.3 is *really* old if I'm not misstaken. Is that really the one
you want?

Sounds like a broken archive. I assume the md5sum is used to verify the
integrity of the package or some file/data within it.
I'm not sure what the best way to get OpenAFS working is on Debian 2.2.
I don't know which version, if any, is in the debian distribution.
Perhaps you should try the source packages if there are no updated
Debian packages for 2.2?
